Tools:

  • To avoid the sun, sit on the left when flying west bound.
  • Google the best seat to sit in if you want to see a particular landmark you’re flying over
  • Educate yourself on which credit cards get you airport lounge access.
  • All airlines overbook. Call the airline and ask if they need volunteers for upgrades.
  • Ask the airline if they do cash upgrades.
  • If the flight is not fully booked, ask at the check in counter if there is any row free where you can lie down.
  • The very front row typically has less leg room; go for the second row.
  • Give the steward looking after you a small gift eg Tim Tams or Malteesers.
  • Continuously educate yourself and gain awareness on travel.
  • Ask people you know who travel a lot what they know.
  • Ask locals for recommendations of what to see, do and where to eat.
  • Ask your body where it wants to eat.
  • Eat local food.
  • When booking a restaurant, book for more people than are coming and say they cancelled on you so you get assigned a bigger table.
  • If you don’t speak the language, use your hands.
  • When driving overseas, remember your body has to be in the middle of the road.
  • Treat everything like an adventure.
  • Have fun.
