Have you ever set a target for yourself and then were secretly happy when you didn’t hit it?

Maybe you schedule a class to facilitate and when no one registers, you are relieved. Or, you set out to have 10 new clients within 3 months and at the end of the 3 months, you have no new clients but rather than being disappointed, you breathe a sigh of relief because you concluded that would be too much work anyway.

This is the Joy of Failure, where rather than being the brilliance and the greatness of you, you choose the relief of your ordered reality which limits you and your creation.

People love the Joy of Failure. It allows them to say, “Well, I gave it my best shot but it didn’t work out.” Would you be willing to give up the Joy of Failure? Would you be willing to choose to actually create what you desire to create? What if you closed the back door, got rid of your excuses and actually committed to creating YOUR reality?

Here are 3 steps to take you beyond the Joy of Failure and into limitless possibility and creation:

  1. Commit to your life -100%

How much are you committed to your life? What percent? If you are only 20% committed to your life or to your business, do you really think it’s going to work out like you would like it to? Probably not.

Commitment to your life doesn’t mean putting yourself in a straightjacket, or being set on one particular path forever. It means never giving up, never giving in and never quitting. Are you willing to commit to you? Are you willing to never give up on you?

Committing to you is about being willing to have an adventure of living, to keep choosing what works for you, even if it is uncomfortable, and even if that means making changes and choices that no one else (even your partner, your family or friends) understands.

Committing to you can take you beyond your comfort zone, especially as most of us are well trained in giving up what we would truly like to choose in order to t in with everyone else. You have to be willing to be as different as you actually are, no matter what anyone else thinks, says or does.

  1. Demand of yourself that you will do whatever it takes

Making the demand of yourself is realising that no matter what, you will have what you desire in your life.

You start creating your life when you finally demand, “No matter what it takes and no matter what it looks like, I’m going to create my life. I am not going to live by anybody else’s point of view or reality. I am going to create my own!”

Years ago when I first started travelling for Access classes, I could not always afford accommodation, so I would stay at other people’s houses. Once, I was staying at somebody’s house, and the house was not very clean. As soon as I stepped out of the shower, I felt like I needed to have another shower. I demanded, “This is not going to work. I have to be able to create more money so I can have a choice of where I wish to stay.”

I started staying in hotel rooms with other people and sharing the cost. Then I acknowledged that was not what I desired either. I loved staying on my own. I loved having my own space. There is an energy you create when you make a demand and you do not go to a scarcity reality of lack and doubt.

A lot of times I have demanded for things to show up but I did not really know what that was going to look like. And every time, I made the demand anyway: “no matter what it takes” and “no matter what it looks like.” I did not know exactly how I was going to make the money to stay in hotels on my own when I travelled, but I did know I was willing to do whatever it took to create it.

  1. Be willing to choose, lose, create and change anything

What have you created as unchangeable? What, for you, is set in stone? What do you see as valuable, permanent, and lasting? Owning a home? Having a long marriage? Owning your own business? Staying in a job?

What have you decided you do not have the ability to change? Do you feel choiceless about your financial situation, your business, your relationship or your life? Have you made a commitment to maintaining structures that you’ve created in your own universe, rather than doing something completely different? Do you keep trying to change but nothing seems to work? What are you not doing that if you did do it different, would change it all? Ask, “What can I do or be different today to change all of this right away?”

If you are living the Joy of Failure, you are choosing it. It’s not wrong. There is no right or wrong choice. It’s all just choice. The question is, what do you desire? Do you wish to live the relief of failure? Never creating what you desire? Blaming everyone and everything around you for your circumstances? Or, do you desire change? A reality beyond this reality?

Everything is possible. Commit to your life. Demand of YOU, “This changes now!” Be willing to choose, lose and change anything. Is now the time to shut the back door and start the adventure of living? Remember, YOUR choice creates.
